GEORGE TOWN -- Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and University of Hull, United Kingdom today signed a Memorandum of Understanding to achieve the internationalisation of education goals.
USM vice chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Asma Ismail said the collaboration would involve academic exchange, the promotion of study opportunities, assistance to support study and educational opportunities as well as holding seminars, workshop and conferences that would benefit both institutions.
"I am glad that the Graduate School of Business (GSB) and School of Health Sciences are both taking this MoU opportunity to gear USM towards becoming an excellent centre for sustainable education and research," she told reporters at the MoU signing ceremony in USM here, today.
USM was represented by Asma and University of Hull was represented by Associate Dean of Business School Lynne Barrow.
Asma said both institutions would enjoy a long standing friendship and could cooperate on many academic programs from both sides with the support from GSB and School of Health Sciences.
"I am confident that through our efforts and commitment, we will be able to achieve more and be able to continue to develop even stronger relationships and friendships between our two institutions," she said.
Meanwhile, Barrow said that University of Hull was among the United Kingdom's top 10 universities and hoped that such cooperation could be a medium of knowledge sharing between both sides.
